Quality clinical experiences are critical to producing outstanding health care professionals. Athletic Training clinical experiences provide students opportunities to integrate knowledge, skills, and professional behaviors while delivering patient care while receiving valuable mentorship and supervision from our preceptors.
In order to best prepare students for athletic training practice with a diverse patient population in a variety of settings, students in our program rotate through at least 3 different settings (secondary school, community college, 4-year university, professional sports, rehabilitation clinic and/or medical office). Assignments are made based on multiple factors, including: the student’s needs (clinical skills and/or personal growth), future career goals, “fit” with preceptor’s personality or teaching style, etc.
