PROGRAM LEARNING GOALS & EXPECTED OUTCOMES

Program Learning Goals

  1. Students will learn to integrate current best practices, strong clinical reasoning, and effective communication to optimize patient outcomes.
  2. The program will recruit and retain faculty scholars with distinct areas of contemporary expertise to provide students with a high-quality educational experience.
  3. Students will receive quality mentorship to develop their clinical skills and become effective problem-solvers for diverse patient populations across various settings.
  4. Students will be prepared to pass the Board of Certification, Inc. (BOC) exam on their first attempt and be highly competitive for athletic training jobs in a variety of settings after graduation.

 

Expected Outcomes

  1. Perform a comprehensive clinical examination that includes patient- and clinician-oriented outcome measures to fully assess a patient’s function and health-related quality of life.
  2. Synthesize the current literature to make evidence-informed decisions on appropriate therapeutic interventions to best meet patient needs.
  3. Exhibit professionalism and effective communication skills, including contemporary documentation techniques, as part of a health care team.
  4. Demonstrate a commitment to continuous quality improvement and engaging in the athletic training profession.
