The American Medical Association recognizes athletic training as a healthcare profession. Students will complete traditional didactic coursework and concurrent clinical education experiences, emphasizing clinical reasoning skills that encompass the prevention, diagnosis and intervention of emergency, acute and chronic medical conditions involving impairment, functional limitations and disabilities.

The MSAT degree requires 58 units of coursework to be delivered full-time over two academic years. Each academic year begins in the summer (approx. June 20th each year) and significant academic standards are required to remain in good standing.

The MSAT faculty at Cal State Fullerton remain current in their areas of expertise and strives to teach the most up-to-date content. Throughout the program, MSAT students are trained to develop effective problem-solving skill, to provide high quality patient care and achieve the best outcomes.  The MSAT program strives to impart a philosophy of lifelong learning and quality improvement in their clinical practice.
